The America’s Best Bars campaign, in its 13th year, is the only bar-focused awards programme that solicits the opinions of over 200 global travelers, most of whom are experienced drinkers or the high-end cocktail set. Each category in the awards, which are evaluated by over 900 judges, is judged on criteria such as quality of environment, staff training, service and quality of drinks.
This year, the judges are going for a continental theme – and saw potential nominees from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Brazil, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Israel, France, Greece, Belgium, Switzerland, Morocco, Iran, Albania, Italy, Croatia, The Netherlands, Ireland, China, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Canada, China, Venezuela, Belgium, Russia, South Africa, Denmark, Sweden, Brazil, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Peru, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Jamaica, New Zealand, Poland, India, Taiwan, Italy, Belize, Croatia, Colombia, Bulgaria, Chile, Namibia, Jamaica, Iran, Afghanistan, Oman, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, and Moldova.

Now in its 13th year, the annual awards have earned a reputation as a top accolade for beer bars in the U.S. and around the world, with award recipients earning a spot on TripAdvisor’s 2018 Travelers’ Choice Pub of the Year awards, which honor the best bars in the world for 2016.
“The bars in the America’s Best Bars competition continue to take that perfect mix of experience, service and culture, but add a little dose of innovation and taste from around the world,” says David Quest, head of TripAdvisor’s awards. “It’s a complete paradise for beer connoisseurs.”
